My name is Lawrence W. , 53 years old and I have Hepatitis C, Genotype 3a and diabetes. I started tx on July 15 - Pegasys & Copegus. The Pegasys (pegulated interferon) shots are self administered once a week (which I do on Friday evening at 7 pm so that I can sleep through any side effects (sides) that could crop up. I also take Copegus (rebetrol or ribaverin) twice a day, two tablets each time for a total of 800 mgs.
I just did my second shot this past Friday and so far all is well as far as sides go. The nights of the injections I have slept very well so far and am able to work most of the day following. Sundays have so far been my worst days as I am cranky and irritable. I also tend to sleep a few hours in the afternoons. From what I have read that others have written I am lucky so far with the sides. I get headaches once in a while, and a little fatigue but nothing really serious yet. Who knows, maybe I will skate through this with nothing worse, but we'll see. I would like to meet others with HCV especially 3a's and hear what they are going through.
More Later...
